Humans/People/Sentients exist in a perpetual state of cognitive dissonance or (often willful) ignorance, we’re either constantly being pulled apart by what we know as true and what we believe should be true, or we can cope with that by deciding to ignore the dissonance and simply side with the version of ourselves that’s reflected in the mainstream and the corroded halls of western democracy.
It’s becoming harder and harder to look away from the patterns that continue to glare at us from our history books and case studies, the questions continue to stack up while the answers remain a mystery or the same. And very few things can be as devastating as more of the same. How does cruelty & brutality make kings out of men? Where have the monsters mentioned in ancient lore gone? How do we fix this? Where do we go from here? Important questions, each and every one of them, including the countless I haven’t even considered yet. Even the evolution of the butt and how nature decided this particular design for the region between our back and thighs is evolutionarily advantageous is incredibly important. Some questions will advance science & medicine, some will start wars, the lucky few will however remain unanswered, as they should. As that one wise dude said (forgot to bookmark the tiktok and don’t know how to find it again or the full quote but it went hard), we need to be comfortable with simply sitting with the mysteries of the cosmos, we need to understand that uncertainty will likely always be with us in one form or another. The silliest goofiest thing is that we should also keep asking questions, what kind of life would we live if we didn’t at least attempt to learn more and reach out into the stars for stories just waiting to be heard. Hahah goddamn I like to say humans are living contradictions but maybe I’m just projecting cuz I’ve known I’m a contradiction and that in some contexts my own views can be seen as contradictory, but I don’t agree with that. I’m a huge fan of compatible dichotomies that can make sense if enough of us just agree it makes sense, and I think it makes sense to want to know and see more while accepting there will be many things we’ll never know or even realize we don’t know, and that acceptance actually does bring me a sense of relief.
There’s definitely more I can say about some of the questions brought up earlier but this has been sitting in my drafts for too long and I just want to get this blog started so I can continue on to other cosmically pointless topics.
